The Broadview Hotel: Roadmap to Resurgence
Challenge:
Streetcar, a Toronto developer of mid-rise boutique buildings, acquired Jilly’s, a strip club at the corner of Broadview and Queen Street East, in 2014. During the restoration and renovation of this east-end landmark, the Broadview Hotel needed a way to share the vision for its future, while at the same time enticing audiences to book room, restaurant, and wedding reservations in advance of its grand opening.
Solution:
Streetcar contracted me and my team to develop and implement the Broadview Hotel’s overall content strategy. Working with the hotel’s senior management and marketing director at Streetcar, I crafted a detailed social media style guide for the hotel that defined the brand’s look and feel as well as outlined content categories to ensure everything shared across channels was on-brand and laddered up towards sales and marketing KPIs.
When the hotel was reopened in 2017, my team and I were there at every step of the way, capturing and sharing important milestones and memorable moments. In the first few months of opening, we grew the Broadview Hotel’s Instagram following to well over 10K and assisted with the hotel’s launch party and media relations throughout.
